What is Authentic Myofascial Release technique?
It is a deep but non-invasive sustained pressure applied to free up fascial restrictions; What is Fascia? It is a spider web-like layer of connective tissue which covers every cell from head to toe, like an “inner body-suit.” Releases occur by applying gentle sustained pressure for 90 second to 5minute intervals, into an area of restriction. In this way, the collagenous layer is effected which allows a permanent elongation of the tissue. For more detailed information see our articles under the “learning” page.
Is Massage always appropriate?
Contraindications are conditions which actually do not respond and are not benefited by massage therapy. Proper communication before a massage session is essential in order for your massage therapist to address your particular issues and to make informed decisions about your massage treatment.
How can I benefit most from my massage?
Water intake 2 hours prior to your session and after the session is essential to receiving the optimal benefits from your therapeutic treatment. As well, focusing on your breath during the session can help your therapist release tough areas of tension. It is important to communicate with the therapist during the session if anything is uncomfortable: pressure, temperature, lighting, music, or a particular technique.
Does a Massage Therapist accept gratuity?
Yes and No. In a medical setting it is less common, since the environment is more clinical. A more important contribution to your therapist are your return visits and referral of family and friends.
Cancellation and lateness policies:
24 hours notice is preferred for cancelled or rescheduling. Lateness of the client may result in a shorter session, this is dependent on schedule of the therapist. If therapist is running late, your appointment will be honored with full time.
